Baits

You can buy all the best gear, know all the tactics, etc, but without bait you are not going to catch anything. Knowing the correct bait to use when you go fishing could mean all the difference between a bad day and a successful day.

As a guideline from January to April sweetcorn and pellets are the norm bait. From April to August, pellets, paste and meat take some beating. Between September and October are the best months to use luncheon meat as fish such as Carp look to put weight on for the winter months. With the much colder weather with us in November and December then its back to corn and pellets.

These are just a general guideline, but it pays to build confidence with as many baits as possible especially the common ones like Maggots, Corn, Meat and Pellets.
