21/05/11 Willow Park Fishery – Small Lake. Drew Peg 14, which is apparently a good peg. Fish out about 10 metres and caught a couple of small bream on pellet, but the wind was so strong that I ended up fishing the margins for the majority of the match. Caught about 6 Carp mainly on paste (when it decided to stay on) over meat and corn. Ended up with 31-4-0 finishing 6thout of 14, pegs either side of me did not weight Joint winners Dave Pearson (Peg 27) and Tony Plumbridge (Peg 20) with 72-12-0
05/06/11 Willinghurst Fishery – Top Lake. Drew peg 27 for my 2nd proper match ever. Arrived at the peg with Carp spawning over the far bank, plumbed up all over the place and seemed to be around a foot and a half everywhere. Saw a nice gap in the over hanging trees 14m in front of me, tried to plum up and yes line caught in the trees. Float no 1 gone and the match not started yet Thought sod that fish at 7m in front (no trees there ) and then down the edge catching a mixture of small carp and a few roach. Was clear that I was falling behind badly (Haydon was next peg to me) and tried that tree gap again and yes you guessed it, strike and yes back in the trees Tried pulling and pulling and looking like a right noob (well just confirming the look I already have )then snap...yep top kit busted and another float RIP. Ended up with 21-8-0 finishing 14th out of 19.
12/06/11 Gold Valley – Middle Lake. Drew peg 81
